Top generals see threat of Iraq civil war By Kristin Roberts and Vicki Allen

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Iraq is caught in the worst sectarian violence yet seen and faces the threat of civil war, two of the United States' senior generals said on Thursday, three years after the U.S. invasion.

"Sectarian violence probably is as bad as I've seen it, in Baghdad in particular," Army Gen. John Abizaid, the head of U.S. Central Command, told a Senate hearing. "If not stopped, it is possible that Iraq could move toward civil war and we will lose.
Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace, the most senior U.S. military officer, also said there was a "possibility" of civil war in Iraq, where the violence has claimed about 100 lives a day. Asked whether he would have seen a chance of civil war a year ago, He replied, "No, sir."

Abizaid, said there is no way now the U.S. can win in Iraq. We are going to lose the war in Iraq Abizaie stated. The USA will have "EGG" on its face. We are going down.

The day I thank Bush supporters and proponents of the Iraqi war effort is the same day I become a nihilist and relinquish any sense of morality or reason. That is in fact what you would have to do to subscribe to the notion that this war is salvageable.

Bush and many of his diehard Neocon adherents need to understand one basic truism. You cannot force democracy to happen. It has to come naturally from the collective sentiment of the people themselves. Several precursors must exist in a society before it is conducive to maintaining a democracy. Those fundamental conditions don’t exist in Iraq. Its odd that an administration, that boasts of men and women of such high academic, business, and political achievement, cannot come to grips with this fact.

To top it all off you have both active and inactive generals stating that the war and the stability of the country are going downhill. Yet instead of allocating resources accordingly to meet the increasing demands of nation going out of control, Bush and his cohorts just chant the phrase “stay the course”. I would hate to be on car heading towards a cliff with these guys, because they would still probably tell me to “stay the course” even though “staying the course” would get us killed. Interesting, that same philosophy is getting people killed in real life.

Can I say thank you Bush for sending young men and women overseas to get killed and maimed in a fight where we have no business being in the first place? Sure and while I'm at it I can also thank all the morons in government that support a fool president for staying where we have no business being and paying millions of dollars to rebuild a country that could care less about our country. Now if you want to get real we should thank our military forces overseas that are being forced to eat k-rations, not having the luxury of bathing, sleeping in heat and sand in everything and I could go on but what the hell. My final statement is Bush is a damned idiot (I'm being kind here) that doesn't know his *** from beans and can not get out of office soon enough. I support my country 100% but that does not mean I have to like or agree with our government.

You sound happy that the US will lose a war. I am not a supporter for invading Iraq, nor was I ever, but now that we are there it is our responsibility to the Iraqi people to ensure peace for the people. If we just pull out now, we basically just went over, created more violence and left.

If you don't like the US, move to France or something and stop using tax money.

I'm sure you beleive that. We are going down. What is really the threat to us if Iraq is in a civil war? Let's see...they are killing each other more and trying to kill us less. The islamofacists can kill each other till the cows come home. That only helps our situation in the long run. Less of them to have to kill later. Because that is what will have to happen. We will have to kill them later. No matter what happens in Iraq, The aim of the islamists is to have an islamic theocracy throughout the world. So eventually they will have to be stopped.
PERIOD

Can I say, "You are Welcome"?

I bet you wouldn't be talking like this if we didn't go to war and The terrorists were bombing in your home town, Now would ya?

I think war is terrible. However we have to protect innocent people who have a right to freedom. Freedom is never Free.
If we let evil people run the earth, we are giving away the freedom which belongs to our citizens and future generations.

I pray for a speedy end to the way and a good outcome.
God Bless You,

Civil war is about to be errupted in Iraq due to Islamic Terrorists find that place to have the shadow boxing with US + UK troops. But actually they kill innocent Iraqis who struggle to maintain law and order - Shiah versus Sunnies, Sunnies vs Shiah, Government forces vs locals but in all one can easily smell the handy works of Islamic Terrorist outfits, as they are not courageous enough to face the US + UK soldiers in a battle field!

bush lied saying iraq is a dangerous threat to america, since its possesing chemical weapons .
but what really happened is that bush took our troops to be killed in iraq now more than 2000 troopers are dead and till now no mass destruction weapon is found .the only benefit in this world is the oil that bush is stealing .
so bush will create a civil war in iraq regardless of our troops in this way they will be busy to notice what he is doing
so the biggest threat to americans is the greedy Bush

You know what, I support your troops to the highest level. But I don't support Bush. Our troops are just following orders and I beat you everyone of them would rather be home with their families right now than be there. But they're following orders to protect American and fight for your freedom!!!!

Maybe if we all supported our President.. maybe things would be just a wee bit different. For one thing, we'd have less of these questions..
Not only do I support President Bush - I VOTED FOR HIM!!!
Did you vote..

I'm sorry, but I am also tired of all this.. all the whining. But it does show one thing.. being able to post that here.. your freedom.

You are so very welcome!!!!!!
