I realize that they are not actually waiting on me as if I was dining in but it seems like a small tip would still be in order..

..also, fast food workers are paid based on the fact that they don't receive tips but workers at sit down restaurants are paid based on the assumption that they will be tipped for their work so that might make a difference.

I would say 10% is adequate. I mean, they aren't doing anything except delivering the meal to you... no serving, no drinks, and no clean-up.

I tip what I tip at Sonic whenever I go there, just a couple of dollars. All they did was bring it out to your car. If they were actually waiting on me in restaurant, i'd tip them a lot more. =)

Nothing. Next you will want to tip McDonalds staff. They are doing their job and getting paid for it. There was no extra effort put into passing you a bag.

I would consider that the same as delivery so I would just give $1 or $2.

I guess a couple of dollars. It's like tipping the servers at Sizzler's and Pat & Oscar's, I guess.

It wouldn't occur to me to tip in that situation, but if you feel you really want to, $2 would be the max. Think of it like valet drivers.

Two dollars - at best. They brought you a bag - they did not "wait" on you.
