If you are not going to order the graduation announcements from your school, stop by a Hallmark shop and pick up invitations. You only need to give the date, time, location, etc. which is generally a "fill in the blank" on store bought invitations. If you want to include a personal note it should be done on a separate piece of stationary and included inside the invitation. Simply express your desire that you hope they can attend and maybe mention your plans for after graduation. For out of town guests include a generally map and directions. It is also very nice to include your graduation picture if you have had them taken. Congrats on graduating!

Hey there, if you order from your college, they already put it in the invitation (it is a standard greeting) or if you want to write a note to stick inside, just say something like thanks for all your support over the years and i'm finally graduating! No need to ask for money, etc. If they can afford it, they will send you a little something. My cousin is graduating from college tomorrow, and he sent me an invitation with a nice picture of him which is a good idea, especially if your relatives haven't seen you in several years. =) Congratulations!!

I can't find mine - way too long ago - but it was provided by the school, at considerable expense. Just the basics, i.e. your name, college/university, B.S., B.A., M.F.A., PhD, etc. and the date. Send only to people you know REALLY care about your accomplishment, otherwise they'll accuse you of soliciting for gifts. (money) Under NO circumstances ask for money - very tacky.

whilst my toddlers graduated from extreme college, I despatched their bulletins to realitives that I knew could no longer come to commencement. Like MY grandmother, their great-grandmother, alongside with a commencement photograph of them, Grandma incredibly enjoyed it.

Why do you have to announce your graduation in the first place? To brag about your accomplishment? To solicit gifts?

Nothing, just order the ones from your school that say the date, time and degree, etc. and mail them.
