If Tim Horton's can set up a coffee shop in Afghanistan for the Canadian soldiers, then Starbucks can set up one in Iraq for the American soldiers. It's not too hard to do, it's just a refrigerated mobile trailer and the workers get danger pay.

But, do you really want soldiers rushing back to base to fill up on fat donuts and coffee? Tim Horton's was so popular that I'm sure some of those soldiers weren't looking too hard for those road side bombs on the way back from a long day out in the field. They just wanted their donut. And that's not good, because if the bullets don't kill them, the cholesterol will.

It better be ice coffee. I think it would be nice, but since I don't like starbucks it is not a big deal.

Here is what i would like to see: UPS, Post Office, free or discount shipping to all people in the military. There are times I have bought things to send to my son and the shipping cost almost as much as the item. IE: $20 worht of sunflower seeds cause $14 to ship. My shippin his personal stuff has cost me a small fortune.

I would think that a lot of stores could do more for example---BJ's, Sam's, Costco- a lower fee or no fee with military id.

I think you are referring to a rumor that Starbucks refused to send the soldiers coffee because the corporation is against the war in Iraq. That is just a hoax, though. You can go to their homepage or to snopes.com and read about it.

I think it is pathetic that someone should offer SOMEONE ELSE's money/property as a gift.

Why don't you buy them some coffee?

Don't get me wrong, I have got no beef with the good folks in the service.

You are just a dumb hippy

edit: I may have misread you question, who cares if someone else gives something of theirs to a third party? what is it to you?

You are still a dumb hippy

I think our primary concern should be getting soldiers necessities like proper armaments and protective gear; things that they were in short supply of. Coffee is hardly a necessity.

It's up to them. Remember, getting anything to Iraq is a logistics nightmare.
