We trained our cat to use the toilet instead of a litter box. (Almost). We were gradually making the hole in a piece of plastic above the toilet larger and larger. At the same time, we were decreasing the amount of litter on the plastic. She was going in the toilet with no litter finally. Until....
One night, she decided the hole was big enough that she could play in the water. She stuck her head and one leg through the hold and got kind of stuck. As cats do, she decided to flip out and ran like crazy around the house before we could help her and got unstuck on her own.
Needless to say, she didn't take to using the toilet anymore.
Stinking litter box!

Yes, definitely. I trained one of my cats to sit on command, also to fetch and to walk on a leash. He acts like a fluffy little dog that purrs and uses a litterbox.

Yes, I have had cats all my life, and have owned two that I trained to retrieve. In fact, my current cat, DJ, will chase a crumpled piece of paper or foil for hours and bring it back to you and drop it at your feet - that is until he gets tired, and then he will drop the thing and lay on it and look at you like, " What toy? " LOL
I think sometimes they train us.

If you respect them as cats, not as little people, they'll do anything. I know for a fact, i have 4 very trained cats.

if the cat is interested enough, sure.
there's a Russian guy who has his own cat circus. but even he knows that sometimes some of the cats won't cooperate.

Yeah cats are trainable. You just have to have patience. Although there are times when I wonder if I have my cats trained or do they have me trained...hmmmmmm

mainly, cats aren't trained. i think you would have to find out what it wants to be satisfied. my gram's cat is scared of me but my gram never taught it any tricks. that's what i think. i am not trying to diss you i just think they aren;t sopposed to be trained. i mean, since the cat is ur's, you can do whatever you want with it. but this is my opinion.
