i spend money all the time on anything & everything...i have been evicted several times because i just can't stop spending on clothes, shoes, knick knacks, garage sales, flea markets! i kick myself all of the time because i feel, i should have known better...and yet, i continue doing it. i can not seem to keep the house cleaned. i have a hard time organizing, even though i have great ideas about things. i hoard everything, and hate letting anything go.
sometimes, especially lately, i wake up feeling hopeless about things. but then if i go back to sleep, i wake up feeling much better. sometimes, i dont' even have to go back to sleep. take yesterday, for example...i was at work and wanted to kill anyone who came near me, however, by lunch, i was chatting it up like there was no tomorrow. i am very anxious when talking to people sometimes...i have a hard time talking on the phone..i pretty much avoid it alltogether.

i am distrusting of everyone, including myself. sometimes, i forget what i was talking about.....like i will be talking, then someone asks me a question about what i just said, and i have to ask them what we were just talking about. last, i hardly ever go anywhere...i spend a lot of my time after work either on the computer playing pogo (games) or sleeping. i think more about not being here...how it might be better off, but then i'm ok?

do i have a problem?

You have a problem that is too complicated to diagnose on line. The problem is serious enough to screw up your finances and relationships, so it is serious enough to see a professional and find out what you can do to get your life back under control.

See your doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist or consult a psychologist.

Hmmm, well it sounds like yes, you do have a problem and it stems from the mental aspect of problems. However, it could all be stress related. Looking back, have you always had a little something about yourself that you recognized that kinda made you wonder if what you were feeling just wasn't right? And, when you are shopping, does it make you feel like you are on a high until the newness of the items you bought have worn off? In all honesty, it sounds like you are dealing with an anxiety disorder. However, the anxiety you are experiencing may come from guilt you feel about how you have your priorities out of focus. If you could devote one weekend to trying to reorganize your home, or living space, this may make you feel a lot better because when you get rid of clutter, it also cleans you out too, internally. I know it may sound silly, but it's true. If you have tried everything that you can possibly think of, you may consider talking to a professional. Does it seem like your motivation is easily disrupted? What is the longest you have help a job? These are really important questions that you should focus on. Because you may be able to re-invent yourself on your own if you use the right tools. And it sounds to me like you have a good grasp on what's going on with you. That is a good thing. I hope this was some help. Julie

Sounds too me like you need to step back, take a deep breath and then go get some help. Asking if you have a problem is actually admitting that maybe you do and that is the first step in getting better. Good luck. Life should be happy for you, not so hectic.

Sounds like Schizoaffective disorder (a mixture of bi-polar and mild schizophrenia.) See a psychiatrist about it.

You may want to start keeping a journal (it works better than the meds.) Write down what you feel, and then like 6 months later look back at it. It may help you to understand circumstances that lead up to your bad days. It will help you catch yourself building up to a manic state. Or leading down to a depressive state.

If thats what you have, its a lifetime disorder. It doesn't go away, and without doing something about it, it will continue to get worse.

Good luck, hope that helps.

There are screening tests that you can do online. Just type Bipolar in the search box. When you are finished it will tell you if you should see a medical professional. Hope this helps. P.S. You know better than anyone else what is normal in your mind and your body. If you do not feel right, don't ignore it.

what you describe is very similar to the mood shifts of bipolar disorder (my husband has it) . . . you need to speak to a psychotherapist ASAP who will then refer you to the medication doctor (psychiatrist) if you need to be on meds such as lithium . . . once you are controling the mood shifts and they get farther apart, you will feel more in control of your life . . . bipolar is not curable, you can only control it . . . so again, as the wife of a bipolar person, seek the advice of a professional in your area

Bipolar and anxiety disorder seem to be a part of your problem, but I would be tested for schizophrenia, as well.
