I'm assuming this is a chapter 7 bankruptcy. You're required by law to have put everything in your bankruptcy, particularly all debts owed. The law allows you to keep a vehicle, along with the debt owed, as well as your home so you wouldn't have to worry about being without transportation.

If your bankruptcy hasn't been discharged, you should get into contact with a lawyer. If your bankruptcy has been disharged, you can do what you like with the car, but you cannot get rid of the debt via the bankruptcy. If you don't pay the payments, the lein-holder can take legal recourse against you that includes garnishment of wages.

Next time listen to mom. But since you already have screwed up your credit for 7 years by filing bankruptcy, why not just let the car be repossessed? all they will do is give you more bad marks on your credit, but they'll be gone about the same time the bankruptcy disappears.
