hey hi.see lying is never ok,except in conditions where,it is for a good reason, like saving somone(good)who had done a mistake, which he/she normally doesnt.for a god reason(if u believe that its not gonna hurt anyone later)u can alllways lie.when u lie the important thing u should think about is that no one get hrt later, and not that everyone will be happy, bcos when they come to know about it later, they r gonna be more frustrated and sick of u.so bfore u do anything u should think twise and even thrice.so take care and be happy.ok\

Lying is never okay. That said, you must think about whether lying is going to make the situation worse, or even come back to haunt you. Lying to someone that is dying may help them enjoy life in thier last few days. Lying to a murderer looking for your family is ethically justifiable. The thing you must consider: will the lie hurt more when and if discovered later, or will the truth provide less pain. Lying in relationships will often cause more pain in the end. Sometimes you must lie at work or represent a position that you do not agree with (sales) as part of your job, and thats not okay either. But its so much worse to lie to your partner. Lying often leads to unfaithfulness (slippery slope, you figure you can get away with one lie, why not get away with the whole enchelada.) Before you lie, consider all options. Lying should be a last resort.

Lying is very ok when you both know you're lying , and have fun with it. Maybe this isn't really lying anymore then.

I would say only when it is in the best interest of person it's being told 2. Ex. telling a kid there's a Santa(yes that's a lie), or telling a relative their kid is good(he's a crack dealer). Or to spare someone's feelings(those spandex look good on you).

In certain situations which will be obvious to you, don't think of it as resorting to a "lie", think of what you're saying as "the truth well told".
And when it comes to downright lies, if the only one you're hurting is yourself, then it's okay.

When it is done to spare the feelings of someone while not hurting anyone else. The classic being, "oh yes, your baby is beautiful" when in fact you think the baby is ugly". In that case why be honest.
