Richard Dawkins is said to have written that if he saw a statue of mary wave to him, he'd just consider it a chance flux of the molecules in the statue.

Do you agree or disagree? and would you mind stating your religion. (oh, on the side, I'm jewish.)

Please keep answers short (~40 lines).
Thanks

The point is, religious "miracles" don't stand up to scientific scrutiny. Ever.

I think Dawkins was just trying to make a point that even something as seemingly miraculous as a statue waving at someone would have a scientific explanation. Do you know where he said this, because I'm just guessing about what his point actually was without knowing the context.

Personally, if a religious statue waved at me (an obvious wave, not just part of it jumping to the side then back into place) I'd have to take is as an act of divine intervention...statistically, the odds of the molecules behaving in that manner is astronomical.

i m Roman Catholic- i wud consider it the same way as Richard Dawkins did. statues don wave n moreover, i don think Mary's Spirit or whtever wud lyk to reside in a statue n God doesn need waving statues to prove a point............

Richard Dawkins should go back to hosting Family Feud. Or was that some other wacko?

Yea the other guy is right, miracles cant stand up to tests from science. Scientist try to explain things rationally, where others just say god did it

I would disagree... I would say the guy was probably just on acid or something... not due to the molecules, lol. I'm Wiccan.
