There is no way to answer this question. You need to specify years and models.
Both brands have had good and bad models in different years. Benz, in particular, had two major recalls in the last couple of years, both on the S Class (one involved engine, the other, braking system).
Both brands are genetically incapable of producing a decent small car (they try every now and then, but what comes out is questionable product like BMW 318 or Mercedes 190).

Personally, I like the Benz but they are both great cars. But I guess it also depends on which one you are getting. But if I were you I would definatley buy the Benz!

Mercedes Benz. If you don't believe me ask Pebbles from the 1986 hit. Do you wanna ride in my Mercedes boy? Listen to the track. Pebbles-"Do you wanna ride in my Mercedes boy?" It's a good song. This tells you right there a Mercedes Benz is the car to drive!

i like the way BMW's look, but its gotta be benz when it comes down to it all.

Definately BMW. They're so much more stylish and handle a lot better than the Mercedes. I mean, didn't you see The Transporter? Who wouldn't want a beemer after seing that movie?
