well, i have the free will to commit murder-- but it's not a right. I would still have to face punishment for my actions even if the choice to act is my own.

there are consequences to anything you do whether you like it or not or think there is or not. You have not been given the right to do wrong without a consequence and if you are given the choice to either do what is good or do what is bad and you choose the bad when it was told what would happen if you did, how would it be right not to follow through with it? You are choosing to go to Hell when you do what you know is going to send you there rather than doing what you know is right. If you rob a bank, do you think you should walk free just because you have a free will to choose what you want to do? You do it with the full understanding that you will be placed in prison and you choose that anyway so you get what you chose. You could have chosen to obey the law and be free on the streets. Same with Heaven and Hell, you choose what place you want to end up, you have that free choice, free will.

Free will does not give you a right!
It means you have a choice.

In the path of life there are many forks in the road.
At each fork you must chose. With out free will you would go only the way you are chosen to take.
You could not chose any other way. like a program taking only the right path or only the left path.

You have free will, you look at the paths and see what is down the road, is it Rockey, smooth, dark, will the path take me to where I want to end up.

NO free will you would take the path you are programed to take, no other consideration makes no difference what the path you take is!

We are given the choice because we were created for a purpose. God made us so we could love and be loved. But in order to truly love someone it has to be a choice you make. That is why you have free will and a "right" to do the things that can lead to your ruin.

A child has free will to misbehave, but they know that there are consequences. That's what makes a good person: having the choice between right and wrong and chosing right. Otherwise how is God supposed to know who is truly a good person?

Just because you may have been given a 'right' to do something doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. God has clearly given us the way. We can choose either to except it or reject it. The choice is yours.

Free will as its being taught in most churches is a myth. an unsaved person is free to do what he wants, but not free do do what he should. If the Holy Spirit does not open his eyes he will remain blind and dead in sin.You need to study the doctrines of grace.

What's even dumber, is that for those who go to heaven, they no longer sin! So either god takes away their free will, making all this just a pointless cruel joke, or he takes away their 'sin nature', which means the 'free will' argument excluding god from culpability for sin was bogus all along, since we still wouldn't be sinning if not for that 'sin nature' that he put in us.

If you were'nt given a right to choose, then you wouldn't know why you went to heaven or hell. Also, you would have complained on why you couldn't choose between good or bad.
