That's not a good sign, make sure he has food and water. Also make sure he can get to it. More than likely he is very sick, or has not been feed in a while. When they sped most of their time on the floor they are basically past the point of no return. I feel sorry for the little fella. You may want to call a pt store if you can't get him to a Vet. Oh, and he can be lonely, birds do usually die from loneliness. When I go to buy just one bird, I look for the one that is chilling by himself. You know that he will be fine with out company. Good luck.

You should take the bird to the vet immediatly!!
There could be somehting seriously wrong with it. In my experience, by the time a bird is sitting on the bottom of the cage for long periods of time it is usually very ill.

I've had birds that don't like being up on the perches. My two baby lovebirds are always on the bottom of their cage. Well they're not exactly little babies either. They are 7 weeks old now.

Okay all those answers so far stank. Do you know the gender of you tiel? If it is a female, she's probably trying to lay an egg. Mine does that all the time. Just sits there for hours and hours, till she finally lays one. And she tends to not eat as much. If it is a male, it might be sick.

In order to give you a better answer I would need to know a few things. How old is your bird? Male or Female, Is it eating and drinking normally?
Contact me with more info on your bird so I can help you out.

Could she be sitting on an egg? If your bird is female, she can and will lay infertile eggs. If no egg, I have no clue. Take her to a certified avian vet to check her.

Birds sometimes do that when they are sick, or maybe, if it's a girl, she is about to lay eggs?
Call your vet. He or she should be able to give you advice whether you should bring your bird in to the vet.
