I've recently been considering hair extensions to add length and volume to my hair. I live near Boston where many salons offer hair extensions but I'm worried that they won't work well with my hair. I have curly hair that I straighten (or blow dry) most days or curl lightly so it's wavy. My hair is also color treated.

Before I consult a salon (who will inevitably push me towards hair extensions) I was wondering if any one has similar hair and has had success with hair extensions.

Hair extensions are never good idea. They can make you lose all your hair and you'll end up bald instead of beautiful.

Hey I have been thinking about getting it done I know a few ppl that get them sewn in and the look and feel wonderful(human hair only of course ).
I have also been considering the glue in types cause i found a place on line that teaches tou how i would most likley in roll a friend to help with this method .
I on the other have straight color treated and thin shoulder blade length tresses that never seems to grow !
But dont listen to everyone do what makes you happy the few girls i know have had there hair done in extensions for years and they have not yet went bald.

Hey there, first off, it is VERY expensive. They start out with the sewn in ones at $300 and then the infusion ones (which Faith Hill, Jessica Simpson, etc. have) start at $800 and go up from there depending on volume/length. Best bet is just to try and grow it out on your own. Also the sewn in ones ruin your hair i've heard and if you get the infusion ones, they only last between 6-8 months and you have to pay the fee again to get them replaced. Guess if you can afford the infusion ones that is what I would do.

Remny hair extensions are staggering, yet on condition that they are human hair extensions. pretend hair has a extraordinary shine that seems thoroughly unnatural. confirm your hair is layered in the different case the extensions won't slot in alongside with your actual hair. additionally, u could propose considerable and Tail shampoo and conditioner for improve. i exploit it and it works somewhat properly.

They can be a good thing if you understand that you'll have to pay for quality for them to look nice and make sure you know how to take care of them and your own hair. If you are going to get them done, I would definitely opt to get them professional done and pay for good quality extensions. The cheaper hair looks really fake and can also be damaging.

i have similar hair..not really curly..i suppose its more wavy than curly..and i would never use hair extensions. it would look really weird with my highlighted hair. plus it seems like wearing a wig..i guess if you get hair extensions you might as well be wearing a wig.

I had a friend do hair extentions in my hair. I'm white and if you have them do the glued in extentions...BUY the remover. It doesn't come out on its own and it destroys your hair. I know...I did it. Still dealing with the glue. Its awful.
