I am researching treadmills and would like to find something in the $1000-$1300 price range. It doesnt need to have any fancy settings, only to be durable and comfortable...anyone have any recommendations?

What you get will depend on your weight and what you're using it for... running or walking?

I just got one for about $1100 U.S. and I love it! It's built for running but I only walk on it. I weigh about 140 pounds. It has a CHP (continuous horse power) of 2.25 and a 12 year warranty. When looking at the motor horse power, be sure it is a "continuous" HP and not a "peak" horse power. You don't want to get anything lower than a 2.

Mine is made by Horizon. The model I have is a T63 Digital Drive. I got it from a warehouse style sporting goods store. Horizon also has a website.

Horizon carries good quality treadmills with reasonable prices. They had a lot of models to choose from.

Searching the net for how to buy a treadmill and what to know before buying is difficult because there is just too much info out there.

Hope this helps! I searched and researched for literally MONTHS before I learned what to look for and what brand to buy.

Good luck! :o)

Most sporting goods stores will carry a wide selection. Dick's sporting goods is the one closest to me, and I assume they will have treadmills in that price range or cheaper. It might be better if you look in the classified ads to find a used one, many people sell them after a couple of years, and this approach would cost much less.
