I'd say that the question itself is misguided. I'm going to assume you're christian, though that is really irrelevent. The ultimate goal of any religion is to be happy and develop a strong, loving relationship with your savior. If you're a christian it would be Jesus. Because I'm assuming you are christian, the question should be "What should I do to develop a stronger relationship with Jesus." That is the true goal, heaven is just a bonus you get for doing that.

Heaven could be state of mind in bliss and tranquiltiy. I will never convince you that it is palace where everything peaceful is there. I would only tell how you can experience heaven even when you are still alive. If you are a Christian be sincere and true to what you say you are. Isn't that you feel like being in heaven when someone is happy because you made him happy? If you are a Muslim, search your heart all the time and stay away from hating those who are not the same as you are. It is not true that they are all infidels they are also your brothers who just happened to walk on a different road but in the end will meet you to the destinies we are all bound to reach. If you are a Buddhist then your heaven is the nirvana when you have reach the eight fold path and if you are a Hindu make sure that in your next life you come to a higher level of consciousness and whatever religion you belong, just always remember there is a straight path as well as there are many roads to take as a journey to heaven and in the end we shall all be there. Heaven may not be place but it is always good to think there is one and that is bliss.

If you study the world's religions ALL (except Christianity and Judaism) of them say that if you lead a good life and treat other people kindly you'll go to Heaven. Both Christians and Jews believe that humans are sinful (we are) and that to go to Heaven and be in the presence of a Holy God you must be cleansed of sin. The Israelites sacrificed animals at the temple to atone for their sins. Christians believe that Jesus was the Messiah and that his sacrificial death was ultimate sacrifice to pay for our sins. Christians believe that to go to Heaven all you have to do is ask God to forgive your sins, accept that Jesus is who He claims to be, and that He died (and was resurrected) for your sins, and live your life according to the example that set by Jesus.

Something else to contemplate is that of all the founders of the world's religions, ONLY Jesus made the claim of divinity - not Buddha, not Moses, not Mohammad. Think about it, anyone who claims to be God is crazy, right? So was Jesus crazy? Was He a liar? Wouldn't either of those ideas contradict ALL of His teachings? If He was a liar (or insane) would billions of people entrust their eternal souls to a lunatic? If Jesus was a liar it would make Him the most evil person in the history of mankind. So...either Jesus was a liar of unmatched magnitude, and was the most evil person on the planet, OR He was God. Furthermore Jesus was the only religious leader that returned from the grave. Did anyone see Mohammad or Buddha walking around after they died? Jesus resurrection is one the most historically documented miracles in the Bible.

So there you are, religion in a nutshell. Ultimately though, you have to decide where you stand regarding who Jesus says He is - I can't force you, and frankly God doesn't want to force you either. Love has to be given - that's why you have free will in the first place.

You might try the website listed below as a useful resource for answering your question. I would also recommend reading a couple of books by noted atheists who tried to prove that God doesn't exist - they're listed as well.

Well, look at the first time someone asked that question after the church began:
Ac 2:37 When the people heard this, their hearts were filled with shame. They said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts records the beginnings of Christianity. EVERY TIME it records people becoming Christians we see baptism.

Churches that don't teach that are not following the scripture.

Surrender your heart to God and except Jesus as your lord and savior thats it and belive inhim with all your heart he exists, don't believe he doesnt for one minute just because you cant see him thats the ultimate test of faith, do you think a God has to prove his greatness to some mere mortals that want to see a fire work show he is of Grreatness beyond the human imagination.
1 Corinthians 7:19,23 The important thing is obeying God's commands. You were all bought at a great price , so do not become slaves of people's wicked thoughts?

Jesus said, "unless (you) be born again, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven". Born again means...born of the spirit. This happens when a person repents of their sins (they know they have sinned, and are sorry for it)....asks forgivness, and believes in Jesus Christ as their savior.

This is the beginning of the Christian walk. You then need to learn about the person of Jesus Christ, and how to live in this life...that is found in a good bible study.

Hope this answer helps you.

Buy a ticket to a place called Heaven on earth. Your travel agent should be able to advice on such a place, perhaps Hawaii or the Caribbean. Definitely not Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan.

In order to get to heaven you must first get saved. To do that is as follows. 1)You must recognize that you are a lost sinner. The Bible says ´´All have sinned´´. 2) You need to recognize Jesus as your only savior, He paid for your guilt, completely at Calvary. 3)Ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you and make you a new person. Now believe with your heart and mind that He forgave you and now you are His; You belong to him. Lastly, find faith friends that can help you grow in the grace of God. God bless you, in Jesus´s name!!!

Believe in something and stick with it. Truth is an abomination, ignorance is bliss. If you think too much (like me) you'll find that it causes problems, but if that's the path you are forced to undergo, I sugguest taking a philosophy that rewards free thinking. Personally I have a collective unconsciousness theory that does this, but there are other schools of philosophical thought.

The Bible says right in the book of Acts how one gets to heaven. St. Paul and his friend Silas were put into prison wrongfully for preaching the Word of God. A while later an angel of the Lord appeared and let them out. The prison guards were terrified. One guard asked them the following. . . .

"Men, what is it necessary for me to do that I may be saved? And they answered, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ [give yourself up to Him, take yourself out of your own keeping and entrust yourself into His keeping] and you will be saved, [and this applies both to] you and your household as well." (Acts 16:30,31)
