Maybe your hair is falling out because you've been braiding it. When you tie up or braid your hair, the constant pulling will eventually cause your hair to fall out. Give your hair a break and loosely pull it back.

Everyone loses a bit of hair. I lose up to about 20 strands every day in the shower. It depends on how much you're losing. If by braided you mean cornrows, definitely do not do that. The hair is pulled so tight it always pull a bunch of hair out. One loose braid would probably be alright. If you're losing entire clumps of hair, consult someone professional as to what you should do.

You should lay off the braid that may make it fall out more.

Don't braid it or put in a pony tail. You'll put too must stress on your hair and it'll be worse. Go to a local hair dressers. They can tell you exactly what to do.
