As long as I am accepted by God and Christ, I'm fine. That won't stop me from spread His word as we were instructed to do.

In today's modern world, Christianity is sort of an older religion. Its not like all the newer religions where 'God does not believe in sin yada yada'. You have laws to follow (which we all break don't deny it :P), and the handy bible to get help from. Many people don't really attempt to do good etc etc. that the bible tells us to do. They say 'oh hey I believe Jesus came for us!' then do as many sins as they can then pray for their sins to be forgiven over and over. Hmm, that's where the hypocritical view of Christians came in...
The bible says that Christianity is NOT an easy path to take. There will be others like you that take the same path, but do not truly follow it.People WILL call us cocky, or self righteous. God even warns us ahead of time.
Pretty much, people will also think you're cocky/self righteous/hypocrite no matter what you do. Its just how some of the world has begun to view Christians, but you just have to depend on god, and you'll get through it.

Speaking as a person who has been on both sides of the fence of this issue (currently on the sidelines), there is only one way to appease the specifically anti-Christian agnostic and atheist sentiment while retaining your own faith. Publicly denounce and separate yourselves from the instigators and hatemongers, the Fred Phelpss and the Pat Robertsons. Most agnostic and atheists don't actually care what you believe, they just want the more outspoken and hypocritical of you to shut up. I have no problem with you sharing your religious experience and beliefs with me; until I ask you not to. If you persist when confronted that I am not going to change my own beliefs, then you become that which you outlined in your question.
As for the whole anti-Zionist movement, that is a whole other story. If I knew how to fix that, I'd be on the receiving end of a Nobel.

I think many people mix-up Christians with the Church doctrine. You can be a Christian without going to church or even believe what’s written in the Bible. It’s actually about ethics. Of course you have groups inside Christianity, that are more fanatic about their beliefs and go preaching others, thinking they are the ones that are always right.
If you are a Christian in the real sense of the word, thus somebody that follows a moral lifestyle (loving yourself and others, harming no one, and so on), that’s ok. Continue to be a Christian if you believe in God and Christ, specially if it makes you feel safe and good about yourself. But if you are somebody that is always preaching around and telling others what is right and wrong… Well, than it doesn’t have to do with you being a Christian, but about being somebody really annoying.
Of course you’ll always have groups of people that hate Christians and everything that is related to Christianity and even other religions, but again, that is more of a personal problem that a religious one. There is no perfect world.

You have to understand that due to recent events when one thinks of the term "Christian" they think hypocritical fanatical nonsense. As hurtful as that may sound it's true, the vast majority of all people are closed minded and will never see beyond what they believe fit. Some people to this day believe that all Jews are greedy and selfish. Just like some people to this day believe that all black people are crooks and hooligans. Some people believe that all Irish and Russian people are constantly intoxicated and some people believe that all gay people are denizens of Satan.
People believe this because they want to believe they are above other people. This insecure feeling makes people spew forth egregious comments that make no rational or logical sense.
Now you ask how could people criticize Christianity. What you should really be asking, is why are people so narrow minded?

I think the only ones to accept us Christians are those who are Christians to be honest. I find it hard also as a christian myself in a world full on non-chrisitans. Even if people say they are christians you can watch there actions and the way they treat you to know if they are christians.
I'm not sure if they will ever except us or not. Cause the bible says in this world you will have trouble but take heart "I have overcome the world".Your Right not all of us act as the world act.
I think the ones who will truely accept us are those who are Christians and those who know us. Keep the Faith and never give up!

Somehow living a good life and a do unto others life doesn't appeal to them.
You see it is suppose to be ok for someone to abuse a Christian but when it goes the other way the abusive language rears it's ugly head from the Anti's.
I did get one e-mail from an Atheist saying that they are never abusive. One.
The abusers want to irritate you. That makes them feel superior.
That's fine for them but sometimes what goes around comes around.
Besides, if they REALLY didn't like communicating with Christians, then why are they in this forum?
Food for thought.
God Bless!

I have nothing against Christians who do good, don't judge others, aren't hypocrites to their religion. But I do have something against those who are and those who try to witness to me. I don't WANT to be witnessed to and it will not work. I used to be a Christian for 18 years and will not be one again.
To me, if you ask me to be honest. I feel Christianity is a religion for the weak minded (I'm being honest and these are my thoughts). To believe in virgin births, rising from the dead, people living to be 900, talking snakes, parting the red sea, putting all the animals on the ark, wrestling angels, walking on water, etc.. I'm sorry, my rational mind can't cope with that. Even as a child, I couldn't really believe in that. And many of those stories were taken from older pagan religions as were nearly ALL of the Christian holidays.
I also do not agree with religions that you cannot question or doubt. To not ask questions is to be ignorant. It's not a matter of faith, it's common sense.

Clean your own house. All of the non-judgemental Christians who aren't trying to codify their beliefs using manipulation of the political system need to kick the asses of those who are. Then the rest of us will leave y'all alone. But next time I see a dead fetus sign at Planned Parenthood or another replay of the Scopes monkey trial or another marriage is a man and a woman initiative I'm going to have to continue the struggle against the Judeo-Christian myth cycle.
And I'm sorry, but Christians are always saying "we aren't all like that." But WHERE ARE YOU PEOPLE, you supposed "good" Christians. I've never met one. Never hear you speak out against the other kind. Rarely hear you fighting for separation of church and state, etc. I think such Christians are the four leaf clovers of the religious world.

most Christians are finatics who constantly judge others and do not allow others express them selves freely Christians should think about how many millions of people the killed back in the day to really make this religon world wide. They are not perfect and yet want you to be perfect they say one thing and do the next. They should leave people to make their own choices and not judge because they are not God and they too are only following a legend that was handed down. Serve God and do not judge others that the motto to live by.God bless you always stay pure
