I know exactly what you mean. Someone pointed out some contradictions in the Bible and even quoted the exact verses. Every answer thereafter was, "go back and read it again" and one girl even said "shut up". No one discussed the contradictions and skirted completely around the issue. I would love to have a discussion with an open-minded Christian that would actually give a straightforward answer. I know they exist out there somewhere....
Hiccup_snickup: I couldn't have said it better myself. Dammit, give that girl !0 pts. =)

Maybe it is because some people ask questions that are really old and have been answered many times already (Like, "Where did Cain Get His Wife?", and so on). Some people probably should have done a little research before asking a question. Usually one can find some type of answer to a relatively simple question with just a few moments with Goggle.
It is sometimes hard to tell who is asking a serious question, who is merely trying to be silly or outrageous, and who is outright mocking what they cannot comprehend.
Most people get offended if they think that you are just poking fun at their deeply held beliefs, or if they think that you are somehow implying that all people who believe differently than you are stupid.

Right now, I must say that I do not know enough scripture to enter into that kind of discussion. But, I would not resort to demeaning people's self-esteem or attacking them in some random way. Some Christians, though, are highly protective of their beliefs and yet know nothing about them. Therefore, they are not prepared when the time comes to defend and, as a result, let go of themselves. They momentarily lose their brains and just turn to abuse. Not all Christians are like this, though. Please realize and accept this fact.

When you ask a question that someone can't answer they get abusive and suddenly feel like they are being attacked. It shouldn't be that way, I don't understand why they can't just say good point, I don't know or just not answer at all. Since religion is a belief not a proven fact it should be ok to not have all the answers no matter your belief.

Why if you make a criticism about non-Christians do they repond with personal abuse? why can't they control their emotions ??? That seems to be a problem also. Stop picking and choosing.

Because most of the time, they can't think of a rational answer. When it comes to the Bible, Christians are NOT rational. Jesus said that blessed were those who believed without seeing, so they deliberately blind themselves and let their bibles think for them.

Oh, that's not them, that's me. Only because you are a hate-monger, though. You have no questions, you just burn up space with your constant disrespectful baiting. If you had had decent parenting you would probably treat people better .
That answer your "question" , Gomer?
