a friend is in a coma and recently had an EEG and the results that came back said he only had 2 percent brain functionality. Just trying to understand the whole process.

Well, Einstein only had 9 percent. 2% isn't bad for a person in a coma, not at all. It means (s)he's doing something, with a good chance fo survival.

Normal is about 6 or 7%, maybe eight if you're very gifted.

Isn't that sad? Humans use less than 1/10 of their brain. Imagine what would happen if we tapped into all that.

It's a common myth that humans use only a small percentage of their brain. The fact is and has been proven by scientists is that we use 100% of our brains.View of a pet scan will clearly show this.2% may not be that unusual in the case of a coma. You could try doing a search of the term PET scan to find some more information on funtioality and usage.I'm so sorry to hear that your friend is ill.I too was in a coma then later a drug induced coma late last year.I don't even have a single memory of being in the hospital.Hope he gets well soon
