My kids stay with there fathers on the weekend. And boy is it dirty. I would rather use a public bathroom then his!

How can I send my kids over with such a dirty house. He has two dogs also that shed so much. I want to keep the peace, but the rugs hasn't been vaccumed since I left 10 months ago. He does a bs job of cleaning just to make space for more garbage. Move the dirty out the way, but leave the things to the side. He might mop, if the floor is so stick it keeps getting his foot dirty. Other than that forget it.

He doesn't want to here anything from me. Should I be concerned? Or am I being petty? The house is nasty! I don't care about messy, I am talking nasty, but he doesn't see it. He never cleaned when I was with him, never really help me. So now he gets my kids on the weekend. They are too young to clean.

My concerns are Dog hair- what is the effect of high amounts of dog hair, I am sure they ate a few also, since its everywhere.

Also, the dust build up. I don't think he will ever dust. What for?

The nasty shower,

The toilet area and sink area, he sometimes clean. But kids make it dirty, with urine. 4 kids under the age of 7.

Those would be my concerns.

Anyone who says, I should not let my kids come over.

He has told me, if my house is to dirty for the kids to keep them. He won't clean, because I want him to! So, what then?

Nah. Let the filth pile up. Dog crap is an antibiotic, just like their tongues. Mold is penicillin, so that's good. Maggots clean out infected wounds... all good there so let the garbage fester. Cockroaches can be a much-needed additional source of protein in a young person's diet. Urine cures athelete's foot.

Shoot the slob to death and get your kids out of the cesspool.

A house that is too clean can actually cause problems with the development of your child's immune system. Dirt and filth is actually good for the child's long term health. Kids develop allergies and asma when not exposed to filth. That said, unsanitary cooking can be very dangerous.

Small amounts of urine are probably OK, but you would not want your children exposed to diarrhea for the same reason unsanitary cooking can be dangerous. Also, make sure your ex doesn't get a turtle. They are never clean. In fact don't even get near a turtle yourselves unless you have hand sanitiser nearby. Feces if very dangerous from lots of animals. E-colie, salmonella, Ebola, bird flue, tape worms, cholera, are all feces related. Fortunately diarrhea is gross enough that I think even your ex would clean that up. If the dogs go to the vet for shots, their feces should not be too much of a problem.

Hair is completly safe. The question is what is on the hair. See warnings above about feces. I think you are safe here with dogs hair. Hopefuly your ex won't get any other pets.

That's too bad, I'm sorry that you have to watch your kids go through that. You shouldn't have to. I don't know how sick it will make them but it isn't good to have to live in dirt. It you think it's that bad maybe you should call child protective services and have them take a look. I don't know what the regulations are but that may not be an adquate space for them to live. Good luck.

Well my MIL house is not dirty but it is cluttered and because of that I don't want the baby over there, so I guess you can figure out what I'd say about a filthy house, ugh. I wouldn't even want to go there let alone let the baby go there.

If he gets the kids on the weekends due to a court order - I would speak to a caseworker, lawyer, etc. Let some authority figure tell papa he needs to have a clean house - or that they cannot come to his house until it is.

ofcourse they can get sick! you have to get some kind of court order that says if he doesnt clean up his act, you cannot possibly send your children to live for two days every week in that kind of environment. A BLACK SHOWER? that means theres mold! and fungi! and yes, they OFTEN make people sick... and children are much more prone to these things because theyre still building stable immune systems.. protect your children..

Yes filfth can make your children sick. I know that you want to keep the peace but your children come first. Try talking to him about it and if it starts a fight then I would suggest that you talk to your lawyer, but start off calmly. Let him know, document EVERTIME you talk to him about it. There are websites I am sending you one to check out ok. good luck dear.

i would never dream of putting my kids into such a filthy environment. You can contact Child protective services and inform yourself @ your rights as a parent. I think they would back you on this ... tell him to get a cleaning service to come to his house. otherwise, have him come and visit his kids at your house.
I also agree w/ HarleyMan

Yes, they can get sick, germs and molds and mildew. I would talk to someone else about this, or try to find a way to talk to him. maybe offer to clean up a little for him, since your kids will be there part time. Good luck on that one................
