Well, nicotine is considered by many to be the most addictive drug-- even more so than heroin (according to the former junkies that I know). It might not be that he's not listening-- it may be that he can not stop. Talk to him again, and if it doesn't work try talking to his parents-- and you can ask them not to tell him that you told them. He will probably need their help to quit, if he wants to. If he doesn't there is nothing anyone can do. If he does, there are pills, there's the patch, there's nicotine gum There are a lot of options, but he first has to want to quit.

You can't force somebody to stop smoking. It's a personal choice, and I'm sure he'll continue smoking no matter what you say. If he wants to ruin his life with cigarettes, that's his problem! Don't waste your time worrying about it.

You can't force him to stop but you can tell an adult and they can try and help him out and if you still want to do something to heklp him out then try to hang out with him a lot more and if he tries to smoke around you tell him not to and to wait untill hes not around you if he has to do it. The more you hang out with him the less he will smoke.

you CAN NOT MAKE him stop. you do not have that power.
you can:
give him information
show him pictures of healthy lungs, versus the lungs of a smoker
have him meet someone who had to have that hole cut into their throat and THEY STILL SMOKE
However, he is a teenager, your best bet is to use things he is more likely to care about.
1) it makes him and his clothes smell bad
2) the smell is disgusting to many girls ( boys, too)
3) Kissing a smoker tastes bad. really bad.
Sometimes bad enough that the non-smoked throws up.
(yep, i was the non-smoker. i was embarrassed.)

You will not be able to make him stop. If you cannot tolerate his smoking then stop being his friend until he quits.
