Are the pharmaceutical companies having successful business with pain-killers because "stupidity is painful?"

It's a saying, and I was wondering if it is true.

I guess I would say yes. There are alot of people out there who will take any kind of pill they can get their dirty little fingers on, so i guess that would make them preety stupid!
