Does god prefer the west?

Question

I know I am broad sweeping with this statement, but lets see where it goes.

I mean we have all the good things and good health and good lives and eductaion and everything you would want.

And those in the east seem to have very little of anything, living in the streets and no money and bad health problems.
Yes the East still has thieves rapists and the same bad aspects of the western world, but has no redeming features.

Is god rewarding us for not following islam?

Remember that the Bible says the world is still in the hands of the wicked one and will remain so until the end of this world system. All you said would actually suggest the opposite is true, Satan is fond of us and is rewarding us. Not that I believe that, but that is what your reasoning would suggest once it is used to the full.

Rather, I believe both God and Satan aren't worried about our economy (God cares enough to make sure that we have enough to eat and survive on when we trust in Him, but I don't think the well-being of various nations matter that much to Him) but rather about our souls (who we believe in and follow). And remember, the Bible says the the world overall will side with Satan at the final battle of Armageddon and so I doubt God cares specifically about any nation (except Israel, but that only because He promised Abraham he would care for his descendants, not because of anything they are doing right) but about His followers.

God helps those who help themselves. The west did not get where it is today without a lot of inventiveness, hard work, risk taking, loss of life etc. We created it over time. Ok, we are a secular society, we have looked to improving things materially. Many eastern countries seemed to have focused on religious and cultural things. They seem to be more concerned with keeping things the way they were rather than improving things.

Although we seem to have the whip hand materially, maybe they will have the last laugh, spiritually speaking.

Why should God reward us for not following Islam? After all, if you check in The Bible, they believe in the same God that we do.
I reckon that since God seems to given them pretty much the monopoly on oil, God can't think too badly of them - Can she?

Maybe your mistake is in believing that all the things you think of as "good" really are good!
Examples, McDonald's, Reality TV, The British NHS. .....

Africa
China
Russia
Australia
South America
ETC!
Many of these nations are neither Christain nor Muslim. How are they doing? Some good, some poor.
