I think its cause methane builds up in the process of digesting protiens and fats that we eat every day, these gasses pass from the intestines and build up in our rectum and them bam we expel them in the most hillarious and satifying way.

Because air gets trapped in our stomach and intesinal tract by what we eat or drink and needs to escape somehow. Sometimes it goes up and out causing burps and other times it goes down and out causing "farts". By the way, farts can be funny, but they can also be terribly embarrising. Whys that?

when we digest food, methane gas is produced. IT sits in there in pockets and as our colon contracts and moves the poo down toward the anal canal, it gets pushed down and gets a lilttle pressurized. then we fart.
