Be careful on where you are getting this information from, In the U.S. you file only once a year and that is every april 15th (assuming you are an individual filer).
There are a lot of scams out there that might lead you to believe you are entitled to additional money, but guess what, you need to provide very personal information such as your ss#, bdate, and so on.
Generally when the IRS which is part of the U.S. Treasury decide to change things like when they advanced part of the Child Tax Credit a couple of years ago it was released thru official reliable channels. Don't compromised your valuable data to some con artist. call the IRS at 800-829-1040 or your state department of Revenue to find out.

If the IRS discovers an error in addition/subtraction on your return, they will send a check/bill for the difference. This is not included in your original refund/bill because it is usually not discovered until after the original refund/bill has been processed.

You can get a second check once they process your return and find an error in your favor but it is not a refund.
