According to the girls on Sex and the City, the average time that it takes to get over a relationship is half the duration of the relationship. For example, if the engagement was a year, give yourself at least 6 months before dating again. I think it's a pretty good rule of thumb, but it's always good to keep your eyes open, even if you don't feel like you're ready to start a new relationship.

My first though is when you are ready. I would wait atleast six months. This way you can get over the past relationship some and be indepent. If not you may rely on the next person too much. Just make sure there is enough time for your heart to heal!

Start dating when you get over your ex. That would mean you are no longer crying over the failed relationship. You are not reminiscing about how great things were and how great they could have been. You should not have anymore of their things laying around. You should not care if they are dating someone new. You should be in contact with them i.e. their should be no texts, emails, phone calls etc.If you have all these areas covered then you are ready to date.

Immediately.

Seriously, nothing will help to take your mind off of the ex than some drunken, meaningless sex with a stranger that you can tell your friends about later on.

Fastest way to get you back in the swing of things and regain some mojo and confidence.

I bet you can find some girl going through the same thing...

Depends on the person... some are ready right after... some need a couple months... some need a year... It depends on how mature you are and how well you can let things go... Personally, I am ok with about a month's time.... I know someone who dumped her boyfriend and still is not over it a year later.... so It's all up to the person... just do what feels natural..

Well if you're like me, and you have a brain, you won't start dating until all feelings for the other person are gone. I'm not putting myself out there like I did last time just so I can get my heart broken again.

As soon as you figure out what went wrong with your previous relationship and learn from it.

Failure is an opportunity to learn. But if you don't learn, then you can end up in a similar situation again and again.

Whenever you feel like it. Get out and try to have fun. meet new people. going on a date shouldn't mean to get into relationship w/ someone. Date to have fun and meet different people....u could learn what they about while finding out what u want.
If u get attached to one, then u know u ready.

Give yourself a little time to heal. Dont use some one else as a crutch. You may hurt them if they become attached and you dont feel the same.
