Yes and I usually tell him if he cuts my yard too long again I will crucify him!

Oh my God that was just a terrible joke. Sorry!

It doesn't affect my first impression of someone. Having Jesus as a name is like having Mary as a name. Catholics revere the virgin Mary very highly and so her name is "sacred" as well. If you are willing to name your child after someone, it means you respect that person a great deal, it's not sacrilege.

Plus, most people don't choose their own names. I say most because some people change their names. A name, regardless of what it is, doesn't cause me to form an opinion of that person, if anything, it says something about the parents.

At first, it reminds me of the name that is above all names,
but until the person speaks his heart, it doesn't phase me.

They thought the same about the Messiah because there were many who had the same name at the time (Yeshua, or: one who saves), even one who led a rebellion against the Romans shortly before Jesus of Nazareth ministry started.

Even people who are name Christian have a hard time living up to their name.

Well, I met a Jesus at my new work, and it did affect me a little. At first it felt a little weird to call him by his name, but I got used to it later on, and then it was just like any other name and any other person. He was really nice though, and very very religious, so I guess the name fit.

Yeah it does. It didn't used to beyond a mild hiccup, but since The Big Lebowski, I can't help but chuckle whenever I meet someone named Jesus.

I live in an area where a high percentage of the populus is of Hispanic descent, so to me it is just another name when applied to anyone but the Nazarene.

I think that depends of how much and what does historical "Jesus" means to you, and how much your Jesus is alike to his historical namesake! If he has done something nice or just smiled to me, yea my first impresion would be he is a nice guy but not becouse of his name.

In my culture it's just another name. We don't give it a second thought. But if your name is Harry, well that's a whole different ballgame.

I usually ask them if they can cure my leprosy. When they can't I tell everyone that even Jesus couldn't cure me.
