It is not that bad in the army just get use to not sleeping when you are at basic training! My drill Sergeant was very hot but he did yell a quit a bit the first three or four weeks. Are you in shape because you have to exercise really early in the morning! The medical benefits are good, they take good care of you, the food is not that bad, the pay is good, the education and education benefits are great, if you decide well you are there that really hate it when you are in boot camp than a great amount of them will let you go home, they teach you a lot, they will give you money for just about anything that you need, they have a good retirement plain, and you make a lot of friends in the service! You do not get coffee during basic training, you have to exercise a lot, people will yell at you, and you have to be good at cleaning!

I was in the navy for 3 years and GOD please listen to my adivce becuase this can really make or break your life. CHOOSE A BRANCH OF THE SERVICE WERE YOUR TRAINING CAN BE USED FOR CIVILIAN JOBS. The one mistake people make when the join the Army or the Marianes is picking a field that has no vaule on the outside. Who else would hire you if you only knew how to shoot guns!!! Another piece of advice is for you to JOIN THE COAST GUARD. It's a small branch of the military & the easist to make move up. PLEASE FOLLOW MY ADVICE. Those recuriter could just lie to you and tell you what you want to hear just to send you off to the army were you will probably end up in Iraq after you finish basic training.

If you join the Army your life will no longer be your own. You will become Government property and deployable to the warfront, is that what you want?
Be sure it is really what you want before you sign the dotted line. There is no turning back after that.
I'd love to be young enough to join the military and proudly serve my country. It is a duty to country, dedication. loyalty and honor.

I have met very many happy men and women that serve our country. If I didn't have a career going around where my husband is stationed I would join my self!
I guess what you need to think about is... What needs to get done? Why do you want to join? What are you willing to do for our country?

I would wait until the idiot currently sitting in The White House is gone. Putting your life in his hands is a bit of a no-brainer.

You will be sent to Iraq.
Maybe you could try community college for a year or two until this situation in Iraq is settled.
