So I start school this month on the 16. How do I lose about 10 pounds??? I need to. So does anyone know how I can lose 10 pounds or more? 10 points to the best answer. ohh yeah and I dont want to join a website unless it has stuff I can do, not like a sertain food or what not that I need to pay for. so 10 points to the best answer!!!

There is no way to lose 10lbs fast and be healthy at the same time. Besides if you were to lose 10lbs real fast it would come back on just as fast as you lost it. I would shoot for 1-2lbs a week depending on how much you weigh.

Exercise, exercise, exercise! Take up jump roping, walking, jogging, basketball. Whatever is fun to you!

Second, eat a sensible diet. Shoot for 1,200-1,800 calories a day. Less if you are small and more if you are overweight. Cut out as much sugar as possible. Some good choices to eat to not only lose weight but be healthy:

whole grain breads, pastas...
Fruit
Veggies
A handful of walnuts/almonds
lean meat (chicken, fish)
beans, lentils
salad with light dressing
low fat cottage cheese
skim milk

and for those times when you just have to have something sweet:

fat free chocolate pudding
fat free hot chocolate
frozen grapes
light vanilla icecream with fruit
caramel rice cakes

And drink lots of water! If you want to lose a little water weight stay away from sodium (salt) which can be found in may canned soups or anything canned for that matter. Be sure to stay away from all soda or any type of drink containing calories. It is real easy to drink your calories without even realizing it.

Good luck and don't obsess over your weight. Those with confidence are much more beautiful.

Don't join a website and don't take diet pills or fat burners (very bad for your metabolism and you'll gain all the weight back anyway). Try this:

1. Do some type of exercise every day, even if it's a 15-minute walk. Aerobics, jogging, spinning, cycling, etc. are good, but no more than an hour a day. Two of the best workouts for weight loss are: (1) circuit training with light weights, and (2) sprint drills -- 30 second sprint, walk or slow jog for 60-90 seconds, repeat 8-12 times.

2. Cut out soft drinks and drink only water, unsweetened coffee or tea, and lowfat or skim milk. Soft drinks are full of high fructose corn syrup, which is Public Enemy Number One to weight loss.

3. Cut out or cut WAY down on fast food, junk food, chips, candy, cookies, cakes, etc. They're loaded with partially hydrogenated oils; Public Enemy Number Two to weight loss.

4. Take a tablespoonful of olive oil 3 times a day, preferably before meals. Olive oil is a natural appetite suppressant, and it's high in monounsaturated fat, which is VERY good for you.

5. Build your diet around these weight-loss friendly foods:

-- Nuts of any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans and legumes
-- Green vegetables (go for raw spinach)
-- Lowfat dairy products
-- Eggs (high in protein and monounsaturated fat)
-- Lean meats, especially fish and poultry
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (berries of any kind top the list)

I lost 12 pounds in three weeks. All I did was cut fast food out of my diet, and hit the gym every other day for two hours straight working on cardio and just about every muscle group in my body. And you don't want to do anything drastic like not eat; you'll end up screwing yourself up pretty bad.

unless you don't eat at all, i don't think you can physically do that. you could try to survive on just water and vegetables. but what's the use? just cut down on portions and eat healthy. you might not lose the weight as quickly, but it'll be better and healthier with less of a chance of gaining it right back. there are no easy solutions.

Okay, the best way to lose weight is to cut your calories and exercise more.
