BAD IDEA! I work in a hotel, and I used to do group sales and let me tell you, for one, a lot of guests will skip it just because it's on a Holiday weekend (yes, your true friends will be there, but a lot of other people won't). Second, your out of town guests will pay A LOT MORE than they normally would have if you would have done it any other weekend for their hotel room and flight in. We always discouraged holiday weekend weddings for this reason. We could rarely offer much of a wedding group block discount for hotel rooms. How could we? We were usually booked up! Also, catering fees and revenue space will go through the roof because of the holiday weekend. I would reconsider if I were you, but if you have your heart set on it, it is ultimately your decision. Congratulations and best of luck!

I got married this past Memorial Day weekend. Only had a few people that didn't come because of going out of town for Memorial Day weekend. I figure if the people really care for you and are happy that you are getting married then they would make a consession to make sure to be there. If the choose to go out of town then them probably weren't too interested in you getting married in the first place. Remember that it's for you...not to make it conveinent for others.

Nope...my friend did it on that weekend this past one, and it turned out great. I enjoyed not having to rush home on Sunday, to make it to work on Monday. They did sent out save the cards around x-mas time so people would know since it was over a holiday weekend
Go for it..it's your wedding

Good Luck!

I am getting married this Labor Day weekend. I had no problem getting everyone together plus my dad owns a campground so we are all staying there.

bad! I hate it when I get an invite to a wedding on a long weekend --mean I cannot go away and frankly I find most weddings suck...I say if you want good gifts then dont ruin your friends and family's long weekend.

There's an awful lot of other happenings going on. People travelling, family gatherings. If you have the option, I'd choose another.

Depends... Can your family and friends make it?? Can you find a place to have it with all the things you want??

If you can, go for it. If not... you get the picture..
