I am planning to Highlight my Dark Brown hair for the first time. I am thinking of using L'Oreal's High-light Styliste in H50 Toasted Almond or H30. Any coments, advice, precautions, etc.?

get it done by a proffessional o matter what! I also have dark brown hair, It was then after i "higlighted my hair" that "if you have dark brown hair it will come out orange" it looked really bad. I followed the directions and everything, and you know what my "highlighted" hair looked like? just three orange splotches on my head! it was horrible. i definately suggest spending the money and gettign it done proffessionally! please do. and sine you have dark brown hair that only makes it harder to get the color you want. usually when you lighthten it it will come out orange. (when i higlighted my hair i wanted it a light brown color) gte it done proffessionally! its worth the money

You may want to get assistance from a friend who knows what he/she is doing. It is really hard to highlight your own hair. Not only can you not see the back of your head, but after a while, your arms will get tired because you're only applying the color on certain strands. It's easier just to color your whole head.
