I think the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) has a useful website: www.bbc.co.uk. They have lessons online and audio. It's a start. Buy a CD from Amazon in the UK that has a British speaker reading aloud (in America we call them 'books on tape' or audiobooks); buy the text of the book and read the book as you listen to the CD. If the CD is 'unabridged' and complete, it means that all the words you hear are the same as the words you read. Then ask for help from native English speakers if you have a problem.
Don't think that if you watch a DVD that has subtitles, it will help you. Lots of times, the translations don't match what is being said.

okay, sorry I am not British, but are you looking for that british accent or what? because british girls are not the only one's who know how to speak English. unless you are talking about slang and other types of words that only a british person would know. Like bloke, and rubbish, and wanker...lol

I teach English on the net and find my students like to just chat and practice English in this type of site they are free to use and have regular teachers joining the chat rooms to help students. Hope this helps.

there are several books and audio tapes and cd's available for you to use. go to your libary and check them out you can listen to them in your car, shower, or whenever else you have time to listen and practice. I learned to speak Arabic this way and it was really fun and it works great. also check on your internet for how to speak English. Good Luck to you.

The best way to learn any language is to take a lover whose native language is the one you want to learn.
Plus you get the added benefit of the sex!
