yes. there is an update every couple of days at upenn.edu, as of todays update, the right hind leg(the one originally broken in the preakness stakes) is pretty much completely healed, and the left hind(the one with laminitis) is getting better all the time. the problem is, his left hind hoof must grow back(kinda like having a toe nail ripped out and then waiting for it to grow back) and that will take months. he spends more than 50% of his time in a full body sling that supports him so he can shift around without having to put too much weight on his legs. in the mean time the doctors say he has adjusted to life in the sling very well. he is in good spirits and his appetite is very healthy. he is a fighter, and i continue to pray that he will pull through this so that he can someday enjoy a life of grazing in some open field like he deserves.

He is alive but only doing fair. He has had several set backs and is far from out of the woods and will NEVER be 100%. The goal is for him to be able to stand the rigors of stud duty (breeding). If not, to live out his life as pain free as possible. Most horse with an injury as serious as his would have been put down (humanely destroyed) but his potential value as a stud and and owners willingness to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on the slim chance that he will be able to breed , is a testament to their true love of the horse.

YES! He seems to be doing better. The report today indicated the hoof which had the laminitis is growing back. The leg he broke has healed well, but the cast is staying on because he needs to support right now because of laminitis in the left leg.

Yes, but contrary to what an earlier responder said, he is not expected to come through 100%. There have been complications, and its no guarantee. Hes not out of the woods yet.

Yep, he's expected to come through his injury nearly 100%
