not owning up their actions. everyone blames everyone else for the things they do. If you notice most child molesters try and use the excuse that they were treated bad as a child so thats why they hurt kids. no one has any responsibility anymore. And don't even get me started on all these parents that drug their kids because they don't know how to discipline anymore.

Depression and lack of satisfaction. The media tries to make a fortune off of young people, when really they could careless how they feel. Most teens grow up believing everything they see, and hear on television. Although our generation has so much, we are really lacking everything. Today generation is to self-centered, if you ever seen, or read the Christmas Carol, you would see that it takes a giving heart to get happiness. Cause as long as there's more money, or inventions people will not be happy with what they have. But as long as the individual thinks for himself, and doesn't let society dictate his beliefs for him, he will be fine.

You are receiving a lot of frivolous answers.

The worst thing afflicting the United States is OBESITY.

If you compare the residents of this country with others, we are much fatter. It is bad for our health, it is bad for our psyche, it is just generally bad. I was appalled to hear that the majority of obese people in country think they under take strenuous activity regularly. That is an absolute joke. People sit on their a**es too much.

Fear of immediate annihilation.

At any given moment, you could get wiped out by some psycho with a gun, or an elderly person who gets confused and hits the gas instead of the brakes or everyday terrorism at work.

Not a pretty thought.

Well, what generation are you? I think the younger generation is suffering from lack of parenting. I think they are spoiled due to over compensation (from their guilt) from their parents.

major depressive disorder (and I think it explains a LOT of the answers above)

I think it's under diagnosed, and even when diagnosed people often will not take their medication as that would make them "crazy"
