The melon is in fact a storage facility for the plant. It stores water and sugar and red colouring so the seeds can grow up to be strong and healthy and hyperactive.
Many plants have a high percentage of water in their bodies. Most animals do, too.
It's the cells, little building blocks of which the plant (or animal) organs are made. They have a cell membrane and (in the case of plants) a cell wall. Their interior is essentially a soup (mostly water) of proteins and cellular structures doing their thing... usually making other cells or transporting water or food or stuff...
The cells are mostly water, and so the organs are mostly water. Hence the plant is mostly water...
What makes the watermelon so good is that the plant concentrates water and sugar there. This is why we eat it and spread the watermelon seeds all over the place (helping it propagate)

This will give u a brief on watermelon. n as for y it contains so mch water is - tht may b bcoz it is a plant tht grows in desert. These days u cultivate it anywhere but originally it is a plant from desert areas. So...it may b to make the seeds survive it has so mch water in it.
U may notice that those grown in sandy areas are sweeter than the other ones....natural - original habitat makes it better...
