The Belly button only serves as a lint trap and a surgical reference point if surgery is ever perfomed on you. It's not exact as some people gain alot of weight and have large bellies. Those whom are fairly fit, it serves as point of reference to symetrically divide the torso and abdomen into left and right halves when divided in quadrants. It also serves as the top limit reference point in the case of a C-section.

They do serve a very important function: personal beauty and decoration. An innie naval on well-develop abs is a sight to behold.
I am serious. Although it has no other function, imagine how we would look if it was seamless in that area? And no, I don't think it's because we are used to it that way. It seems like exactly the right spot for a naval.

first of all they heal but have different aspects in every body
it is no use after birth but is a sensible place of the abdomen because sometimes there can appear umbilical hernias ,if the abdominal muscles are not strong enough
it must be keep clean and a bit of exercise is well come
and don't play with your finger in the belly button because you can cause infections

No, there's no post-birth use for belly buttons, other than as great lint gatherers. Belly dancers also find them to be dandy places to stick in a jewel, and young ladies think they're sexy to show off.
