When exactly did this become fashionable... you can do this of course, just make sure the person you challenge doesn't use a ginsu as their choice of weapon.

I find it more than acceptable. They don't see it coming. Put a roll of quarters in the glove before you slap though. It will get your point across better and may dissolve the need to duel in the first place.

if someone you would have a reason to duel with gets into a position where you could reach them with that particular organ I say go for it....

I think if you do do that, you might get slapped silly before you can get ton the duel.
