Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Remember friend, Jesus himself was scorned and persecuted by people for what he taught, there will always be people who join this section who do not want to "talk" they want to attack our beliefs. The reason they do what they do is simple.... they get a response. They feel they are "messing with someone" or going to rile you up. And as long as they get that response they will continue since that is after all what they are striving to achieve. If you want to see it come to an end. Ignore them, dont give them the responses and kicks that bring them here in the first place. Respond to the questions and to the people who are seriously curious and trying to find guidance in their lives. Keep your tone and your responses based in Gods word. One of two things will happen.... either those that are wanting to disrupt will learn something... or they will get bored and leave. Pray for them and move on .... dont respond to their taunts and desire to argue... it only feeds the desire to keep it up.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

What difference does it make if they believe in it or not? Everyone has an opinion about this type of thing. And, a lot of what I see them replying to and about are the Followers of religion. Are you suggesting that because they don't have a religion that they can not point out what religious people do?

to say, Atheists don't believe in anything, is as naive as saying; you can create something from nothing. Which is the basis of all supernatural belief.
Atheists believe in everything that is real. And nothing that isn't.
Theists believe the opposite. Lets agree to disagree.
That's the best we can ever achieve. You can't compromise on this.

They only want some other moron to agree with them so they can believe that they are justified in their backwards way of thinking. I read some of the book another answerer wrote. I wonder how he relates to the fact that since prayer was taken out of schools the world is hardly safe anymore.

We do believe in something - the absence of spirituality or a higher power, so that gives us as much of a right to debate here as everyone else. Who knows, we might even turn a couple people around.

I'm agnostic, and i'm hoping that hanging out in the Society and Culture section and answering questions will at least open ONE person's mind. Not to worshipping the devil, but just to thinking for themselves, and not judging others for being different.

I don't "hang out" there. I merely respond to questions directed to atheists from the main questions section.

And what makes you think I don't believe in anything? And what makes you think I'm not spiritual?

The term forum implies discussion. Sometimes it can be discussion from a shared view. Other times it is from differing views, and sometimes those differing view oppose each other. Given the definition of the forum I would say that contains your answer.

BTW - I am a Christian.

Your question cannot be answered because it makes a false assumption. The definition of an atheist is not one that doesn't believe in anything.

An atheist is "one who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods."

I believe in chairs. I am here to lead people to the truth, and I have just as much right as anyone. Why are theists here, none are actually open to any new ideas.
