If someone is gay ,straight ,boy, girl, black, white, brown, yellow what the hell does it matter? I am sick of people who think they have to cram their beliefs down other peoples throats. I am not christian but we all have common ground.1. believe in a higher power 2.be kind.... come on how f-ing hard is that?

A closed mind usually dies from lack of oxygen! Seriously, however, religious fundamentalism is the greatest threat to social justice, fairness, and tolerance both here and around the world. Religion as we know it is completely inadequate to answer most if not all of today's problems. In fact, it is becoming increasingly obvious that religion has become a toxic substance poisoning humanity from developing a higher civilization.

1. Boy, Girl, Black, White doesn't matter - AGREED
2. Homo - NOT AGREED ('Cause they are the ones cramming their sexual orientation down my throat)
3. Common Ground - Believe in Higher power - Don't speak for me - NOT AGREED (CHristians, Muslims, Atheists, Scientologists are ALL cramming their beliefs down our throats)
4. Be Kind - Overwhelmingly Agree

Finally someone gets it. I don't understand why so many people insist on attempting to cram their beliefs down our throats on Yahoo! Answers and elsewhere. I mean, do these people really think that posting a religious question they will change the minds of others?

I believe as you do about people who force their opinions on others unprovoked. I am a Christian and I try very hard not to berate people because their life-style, etc. does not fit within the purview of my beliefs. There is enough name calling, physical attacks, etc. in this world without a war of words thrown into the mix. Jesus instructs very clearly in the Bible to hate the sin, but, love the sinner. Underneath everything is the common denominator of all of us being human.

Why are you so defensive as if someone is attacking you.? I do not believe in anyone trying to push there beliefs down others throats and God does not either. People have the right to share their beliefs in civilze and rational manners. One should never indoctrinate others. Let others willing listen, weigh the content and make a decision for themselves.

i agree
however... ALOT of people who live in this materialistic world today, unfortunately have the instict in the that "they are better"... no humbleness whatsoever!
We need to start acting kind and be helpful to people... not just ourselves.
Oh yeah... and about the narrow minded people... SOOO many of them exist. We all have to accept that other people believe in different things, and WE have to learn to live with it, unless their beliefs harm the environment and society. That's a diferent story.
Basically we have to STOP thinking as though money is everything, and start to help people out for non-material benefits... 1 example being deep, internal, personal satisfaction.

Well, in a way you are also trying to cram your belief down their throats. Mabye they don't want a world with diversity, and what right do you have to make them change that?
Just playing devil's advocate here.

Some people feel it's their moral duty to "save" or change others who don't fit into their ideal political or spiritual dichotomy. Others in this forum just want to shock or enrage people through juvenile and stupid outbursts or deliberately offensive questions....says a lot for their personal life if they have to do this thing to get noticed.

Who has been cramming beliefs down others' throats.
True Christians merely mention the word 'Jesus' or 'Christ' to others and the person being spoken to cringes. Why. I'll tell you why, demons and satan hate Him, and since they dwell in nonbelievers, they make the person cringe and hate the believer.
Are you demon-possessed.
