Actually most eyedrops contain tetrahydrozaline, which is the chemical that "gets the red out". It is actually a blood vessel constrictor. This isn't good for contacts because they make physical contact with the blood vessels in your eyes. There is a brand of drops called "Blink" , they are a little expensive, but worth every penny. It not only perfectly lubricates your lenses, but they don't dry out after a few minutes like saline. Best of all they don't burn whatsoever.

cuz they have certain chemicals in them that don't mix with contacts. Use eyedrops made for contacts or plain saline solution. Here are some great products made by Alcon. (my personal faves)

Sassy Says, take it from me I use regular eye drops in my eyes and I have contacts, and I have been wearing contacts since 1994 so I dont think it makes a difference, if it hurts you then just use Visene for contacts

the only drops they recommend are Refresh eye drops from Allergan...the one with the orange strip for dry eye relief from contact lenses......the burning sensation is you deteriorating your lenses, they get weaker from other chemicals which regular eye drops have....be careful, a little hole in a contact lens can do alot of damage to your eye. Take Care.

you can use regular eyedrops as long as they are preservative free. your best bet is to use drops that are made for contact lens wearers.
