Shouldn't some things be private?

It is really odd, isn't it? There are so many violent, harmful, abusive kinds of behaviour that people *could* come here to rail against, like mugging, or rape, or child abuse, or mass slaughter by repressive regimes, or torture chambers, or any number of other atrocities, but instead these people are desperately concerned that people having an adult, consensual, loving, non-abusive sexual relationship might be of the wrong sex. How twisted is that? What utterly warped moral value systems these people must have. Any real and loving god would be in despair, seeing people get their priorities so wrong.

Sex is a natural thing. People should be left to their own choices. As for sex not being a spectator sport I guess that depends on the people; ) I miss the days of huge sex orgies under the full moon!

Definitely private . It seems too many of these people never outgrew that adolescent mentality about taboo and sexual things. I can't even turn on the TV without being hit by it. Sex is a private, intimate situation not a spectator sport.

Because some theists, like everyone else, believe they are right, and they begin to develop a ego in which only they hold the real truth. In their minds, they must save all of us from ourselves, and they are the only ones that can. Really, this should be considered a mental illness, but because so many people have it, there is nothing one can do.

I could care less about people's sex lives, but I do care about where they will spend eternity, looking at the choices. I would not be a Christian if I didn't try to tell people about the Good Life after this one and how to obtain it.....

Agreed 100%. What I do in the privacy of my own home (unless I am abusive which I am not) is none of anyone's business. The whole of the Judeo Christian world is hungup on sexual issues because on the one hand it's sinful, yet on the other we're supposed to be fruitful and multiply. So much contradiction in the Bible...It's not okay to lust or act upon that lust? The overriding principles should be based upon LOVE and COMPANIONSHIP...not what the gender of your partner is. PEACE!

One of the most powerful biological urges humans possess is the urge to procreate. Allowing religious leaders the right to control sexual activities is almost as effective for control as allowing them to control the food.

And, that's why they try to claim that right. Otherwise, they would have no way to control people since most people are not compelled to lie, cheat, steal or murder.

Keeping it private would be the ideal thing now wouldn't it? Teaching it, promoting it, etc. is not keeping it private. Then it tends to pour off on to everyone else in one way or the other. Aids, child rape & molesting, perversion...........

I don't think it's actually about sex or worry.. i think it is a control issue. They want to control every aspect of how everyone lives including that.

Some people blantantly put it out there for others to see. That's not private.
