men say they love there mate and yet they run from moving in or getting closer as a couple. do you want to spend the rest of your life with everyone else on the planet getting deseases or with the one your ment to be with.

it all depends on the guy. becuz i know not all guys are that same way. me for example i was ready and willing tio move in with my girlfriend adn as soon as we were ready to she got cold feet and left me. we were together for 7 years.

I want commitment more than most women I've met do. Wanting marriage isn't necessarily the same as wanting a commitment. A lot of women will marry a man knowing it probably won't last, because they'll still make out like bandits in the divorce settlement. I want REAL commitment, not phony commitment for financial gain. The only time I run from commitment is when I feel like I'm being manipulated into it by a woman with ulterior motives.

I am a women and I am so afraid of commitment. I am happy with the way my life is and yes I love men but I am not ready and really do not think I will every be to commit the rest of my life to 1 man

The only reason I'm afriad of commitment is because i was in a relationship for a long time and ended up getting hurt and have been hurt alot in other relationships that I've been in so now I'm afraid of getting hurt by someone it's not so easy to get my trust now

It's not just men, there are women that are affraid of commitment too. It normally comes from being mistreated in previous relationships. The only fix is to give him or her time to trust again. You shouldn't rush anyone just because it's what you want. If you care enough you will give that person time.

I recently took a psychology class in college: Here is why men are afraid. Its genetic for them to sew their oats. They are programed to impregnate as many women as possible, So its hard for some of them, psychologically speaking, to get tied down. Women on the other hand have a genetic disposition to settle down because we can only conceive one child (usually) at at time! So we have we can only bear a child once a year (or around that time frame). I know this might all sound stupid, I know it did for me, but there is tons and tons of research into this.
