So many people are being told to believe in one and only one thing. Are we free to believe in what we want or we must believe in what has been told to us?
Should we be afraid if we think with our own minds?

I you don't want to believe in the word of God fine. Just remember, when you are burning in Hell for all eternity while being sodomized by Satan, I will be in Heaven at Jesus's side watching and laughing at your misery!

Why would God give you a mind if you're not supposed to use it? Anyway, if you only believe what you are told, the faith is not yours. Everybody has to form hi/her own relationship with God (or whatever).

I believe that one's conscience is the ulltimate authority because each person is, in the end, responsible for himself and no one else.
I guess that means you should think for yourself although that's not the same as believing what we "want" to believe.
