Ooops ... I'm spacy today ... hmmm re-phrase ...
If dogs could talk, would they lable themselves with were they came from ... like would a Poole say, "I'm French" or a Doberman say, "I'm a Deutchman Dog"???
Or, in short, why do we humans have to lable out point of origin?

It's all about money. Before politically correct 'hyphenated-americanism', that is, before you could get free money from the government based on your skin color/heritage/ethnicity etc., no one really gave a tinker's damn about your aforementioned attributes as long as you could show up for work on time on Monday, and do your job competently.
I say 'support the border patrol', and let's have the fence in.

The poodle I had growing up was too dignified to call himself by a nickname. He probably would snub labeling altogether.

I just learned something new from my pet pug. Since he is a talking specie..he told me that he is not a dog, he is a goblin..
Pugs originate from China.. So pugs here in the USA are legal immigrants. They have registered papers and went through the medical examinations. And their generation and breed expanded.

It would probably yell at you for giving it a stupid, degrading nickname, and then name itself Bob. That's what I would do, at least.
