I've got a needle phobia. Tried cognitive therapy and found it to be a load of cr*p!! They wanted me to watch hospital dramas and look at pictures of needles in between talking about my parent's divorce?!?!

Tried a hypnosis CD but I didn't rate it. I fell asleep every time I listened to it and freaked out when I next had an injection.

It does work. There are many success stories.

If you visit a reputable hypnotist, you may get the result you are looking for.

From this web site you can search for a hypnotist in your area, learn about the code of conduct expected from members of this society and learn more about hypnotherapy in practice.

If you're familiar with hypnosis, then you've no doubt heard of Master Hypnotist Steve G. Jones. His book, "Ultimate Conversational Hypnosis" has been voted as the best hypnosis course ever made. The book is also available in electronic format at: http://www.hypnosistocontrol.net

If you want to get an edge in everyday communication and lead other people towards your goals this is a must read.

It only works if you want it to. Hypnosis is not exactly how everyone views it, you know, that you can be controlled against your will because of the hypnotic state you are put in. Hypnosis works by opening up the communication to your subconscious self, however you need to be willing to accept the new programming (i.e. no more fear of needles), then it will work for you. Until you are ready for it, no method will work.

I tried hypnosis with two different people. It cost me a fortune (£70 each visit) and it didn't work. Some people think it's wonderful. I think it depends on the individual. Good luck

It can get pricy, but standard hypnosis worked for my fear of getting shots. I cannot remember what it is called but there is a form of chemically induced hypnosis. Idon't know if they only use that for very severe conditions or if they will use it for a phobia though. Good luck!

Hypnosis only glosses over the problem without addressing it's roots. it is temporary but not lasting. Your mind will hide (or supress!) the fear , but believe me, it will still be there!! What i do is to look else where and think hard on something else.(Dont like being stabbed myself, either)

I know people it has worked for. But some people just can't be hypnotized...so I guess it depends on the person.
