He emailed me to tell me that he is a father. I played cool and congratulated him and told him to keep in touch. My heart is breaking again.

I honestly wouldn't do this to yourself.....UNLESS he's trying to get back together with you but I guess he isn't since he's going to be a daddy ...right? Take it from someone who knows....your only doing yourself a diservice and it's not healthy...it would be different if he was trying to make another go of things with you for real but this isn't the impression that I'm getting. If you think that you can keep in touch with him occasionaly to just be friendly and nothing more than sure, go for it....but if it causes you much undue stress, don't subject yourself to it!

If keeping in touch is so painful and stops you from moving forward with your life then don't do it. There is no reason for you to have to keep in touch with him. In fact considering he is now a father it isn't a good idea on his part to keep in touch with you.

Your not over it because you still keep contact. You wont get over it until he is completely in the past. It cant help matters for you to know things going on in his life. Next time he e-mails dont respond. You have to put the past in the past.
