Most of you have no humor at all. I think Fiore is a good political cartoonist and I did not 'compare' anything to anything , and I meant IS. And NO I am not in the military. I didn't say I was.

To answer your question:
Some bombs are considered "smart". They have guidance and control systems incorporated (laser, radar, heat-seeking, etc.) that guide them precisely to their targets.
Most conventional bombs, however, are just dropped and gravity does the rest of the work.
Smart bombs are used when it is necessary to reduce collateral damage to surrounding areas. This is usually because a target is in a heavily populated civilian area. It gives an edge in that armies and enemies can't hide in civilians areas and use them as "human shields" because one can strike very precisely (within a couple of inches or feet in some cases) and destroy a target with a minimum of civilian casualty.

not as much as they say they are, at the begging stages of oif 1, bombing baghdad,all 50 bombs that where dropped missed there targets, the gps guided, but when u.s soldiers call in air support for wat ive seen with the laser guided they hit there targets most of the time,but they still need improvements
