MY best friend is sitting in jail and his ex- is saying he grabbed her and that is not true at all I was there. I want to know what the stages of a bruise and what the time frames are.

It depends on how deep the injury is and how fast a person's body heals itself. A small bruise on a healthy person should heal withing a week. A larger, deeper bruise on that same healthy person could take much longer. But it does differ. I am at the other end of the time frame. If I walk into a sharp corner, say my bed post, my leg not only bruise, but the bruise will cover an unbelievably large area and it can last for 3 months.

I believe it might depend on the severity of the bruise. Bumping into a chair or an edge of something the bruise might stay discolored for up to a couple of weeks but could dissipate within a few days. My husband shanked a golf ball on the side of my knee by accident and I had a dark hematoma there that took six months to completely dissappear.

Should show up normally within a day or two but it depends on how bad the injury is. The harder or more forceful, the quicker it will appear (and vice versa). If it is a mild bruise it will only be shades of purple but bad bruises are black and blue. Good luck!

This depends 100% on the person. A bruise is internal bleeding, which can take anywhere from 20min. to 2hrs. to show signs. Depending on how bad internal tissues were ruptured, it could take up to four days (maybe more, usually less) for your body to clear out the area and fully repair the damage.

It depends on the bloods ability to clot, the fitness level of the person, their diet, and the amount of damage. Due to all of these factors, it's really impossible to say.

They last about two to three weeks. Depends on how big they are. They are darkest the next day or two, then they slowly clear from the part where the contact occurred, to the area surrounding it.

They are black and blue first, then they fade to brownish, then yellow then they fade away.
