most of the posts in here are about bad (low) self-esteem and some self-esteem training/study would solve nearly all of your problems with love, respect, communication, work, dating, marriage, sex, friendship, etc.
bad self-esteem is: you think you're worse than others or the better than others. good self-esteem: you're just OK. bad (unhealthy) self-esteem: you let others do everything or you out do everyone around you. good (healthy) self-eteem: you take responsibility and do your best.
do you have good or bad self-esteem? if good, how did you get it? if bad what are you going to do about that? does it even matter to you so long as you're getting by? would you be interested in self-esteem training if you're unhappy with your life? do you even know where to learn about self-esteem?

As an adult looking at your question, I would say my self esteem or self efficacy, is the good kind. Some of it came from the way I was raised. I was never told I couldn't accomplish or that my appearance was poor. That also gave me the ability to have confidence in myself very young.
Like all young people who go through an awkward stage in life, I did too. I was taller, heavier, and had a speech problem, as a young person. The target for constant teasing and ridicule from other kids. I knew young how to overcome that, to be a better person and prove to myself and others that I wouldn't allow anyone to pull my self esteem down. Learned how to control my speech, by giving oral presentations in school, slowing my speech down, and having good teachers, helped. Taught me not to fear rejection of other children, because once I did something that they were afraid themselves to do, the taunting went away.
What did all this do for me as an adult, go into work that required me to do public speaking. Also the defender of what might be called the underdogs, people and children who were never taught self esteem. What has it given , friendships like you would not believe, tremendous value in life.
Oh and obviously I haven't stopped talking. A smile is on my face
