You should get it done by a professional. They can either bleach out a darker color to make sure the new one covers or can decide whether it'll damage your hair to color it darker.

I went to beauty school and many of us had hair from hell by the time we graduated because we did so much to our hair without thought to what we would do next to it. My mom had green hair until they bleached due to the lightening henna. Good luck.

Yes, you can. My mother had henna on her hair and colored it with Garnier Nutrisse Cream and her hair now looks beautiful. Of course, remember that if you are coloring your hair lighter, you need to bleach the henna out, unless your hair will turn green.

If you have all new growth you can use the color on your hair. You should cut of any remaining hair that still has the henna coloring.
